PRC License Renewal: How to Renew in the Philippines?
Like any other government document or ID, the PRC license also has a set validity. Thus, you must renew it now and again. Philippine agencies are now upping their online services to make the renewal process easier, faster, and more convenient for Filipinos. In this article, our editors will teach you how to renew your PRC license in the Philippines. This article is your ultimate guide for your 2022 PRC license renewal.
The Online Renewal System, or ORS for short, has been completely implemented by the Professional Regulation Commission since 2018 in all of its regional and satellite offices, including the service centers for OFWs. This indicates that to renew their licenses, all professionals in 64 different professions must now make an appointment with the PRC LERIS, or the Licensure Examination and Registration Information System, and submit their renewal fees online.
What is a PRC license?
Like any other country, the Philippines has laws to protect its people against fraudulent professionals. The Philippines does this through the Professional Regulation Commission, or PRC. People who want to practice their professions must take and pass a board examination to ensure that they have the qualities and knowledge required for that profession.
Once the licensure examination is passed, the PRC will issue you a PRC license in the form of a certificate and an ID. It gives the license holder permission to practice his or her profession in the country.
For example, if you want to be a civil engineer, you must pass the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination before you can design and sign houses and buildings. The PRC license guarantees that the designed building is of good design and safe for the people.

Is it Okay to Renew a PRC License Without CPD Units?
Yes, you are still able to renew your PRC license even if you have unfinished or partial CPD units. This has been the practice ever since the PRC, by PRC resolution number 2019-1146, modified some of the CPD Act of 2016’s implementing rules and regulations (IRR).
In other words, the CPD unit requirement would not be completely implemented by the PRC until December 31, 2022. Be aware, though, that the CPD initiative is still just temporary. In the subsequent renewal cycle, those who have filed a CPD commitment will still need to adhere to the CPD criteria.
